During the yuppie answering machine explosion during the mid 80's, the market was flooded with comedy cassettes, intended for users to add to their outgoing messages to amuse their friends..

With skits, celebrity impressions, songs, and comedy routines, there were MANY MANY of these "humorous answering machine message" tapes sold. In stores, through magazine/newspaper ads, television commercials..

And none of them were funny. In fact, all were embarrassing, and no sane person would dare to add them as their outgoing messages.

This was "Funny Phone".. A cassette I purchased when I was 8, thinking it would be funny to listen to. And no, even as an eight year-old in 1988, it was wretched, embarrassing, and painfully unfunny..

The "Hoppy Easter Day," "Pointer Sisters," and "Answering Machine Rap" songs have been burned into my skull for decades, and I am proud to introduce you to them!! This collection features all skits from 3 volumes (the first volume was rehashed over 3 volumes) and full cassette rips from all 4 volumes (the final being a lazy sound effect cassette, so you can MAKE YOUR OWN MESSAGES WITH CRAZY SOUNDS!!

Quality is not great, but preserved for historical purposes only.. Enjoy!!!
